About Today’s Church Music
Author: admin10 31st, 2008
Older believers have to be careful how they talk, I’m told. So let me first say, yes, there are some great new songs around. The music and the words both.
Now let me tell you how I really feel…
Since the “established” church seems to have trouble with the old hymnbooks, I sing out of one most every morning. In private. I love even the poetry of these songs. I was raised on them, what can I say? There was majesty and beauty and downright sense to the words.
Take this one. I have never sung it in my life, couldn’t whistle the tune if I tried, but while skimming through a particular songbook (Hymns of the Christian Life, 1936! -before even my time) , I have run across this song often. I decided to do a read only. Oh my, I was touched more than I have been in a month of Sundays in the established place. And I mean no offense to my home church. I just have trouble feeling at home during song-time. Check out these words:
1. Jesus and shall it ever be, a mortal man ashamed of Thee?
Ashamed of Thee Whom angels praise, Whose glories shine through endless days?
2. Ashamed of Jesus! sooner far let evening blush to own a star;
He sheds the beams of light divine o’er this benighted soul of mine.
3. Ashamed of Jesus! that dear Friend on Whom my hopes of heaven depend!
No; when I blush, be this my shame, that I no more revere His Name.
4. Ashamed of Jesus! Yes, I may when I’ve no guilt to wash away,
No tears to wipe, no good to crave, no fears to quell, no soul to save.
5. Till then, nor is my boasting vain, till then I boast a Saviour slain;
And O may this my glory be, that Christ is not ashamed of me.
OH how wonderful those words of Joseph Grigg. I can only imagine that Henry Oliver’s tune enhances the beauty. Because that’s how the old songs were, for the most part. Great lyrics, supportive music. Not the other way around.
Here’s a suggestion for Mother Church, the Body of the Lord Himself. If we so desire novelty for our youth, let’s teach them some of these great old songs that they have never heard. To them, they will be new. To us they will be precious. And we’ll all be happy.
Suggestion two, while I’m on a roll. The Church was not created for the world, but for the saints. Let the Church remain holy and draw all men to Christ through the preached cross. Let the saints feel comfortable in their own home. The world has its own.
Did I just change the subject…? not really. Music that appeals to the flesh is of the world. Music that effects bodily changes is fleshly. Music that makes me want to cover my ears is an offense. Music that, like alcohol and tobacco, takes some getting used to needs to be eliminated before all ears are polluted and people will not even want to go to a church that does not rock.

Author: admin10 27th, 2008
It is very essential to know what type of content and sketch you need for your photography portfolio website. So here are few tips which would help you to create good portfolio website.
Relax and gather your thoughts
At times ideas just evoke, when you see something that flashes creativity in you. It is just like that ideas do not hit us; it is more likely that we have to make them, so that eventually they would hit us. More likely been hit by the car, you get a better chance in a middle of a road rather than at the side of a street. So it is important that you give full attention to your thinking process. Note down the ideas that come across your mind, and then circle all those which you think would not work for you.
Never grasp the initial thing you see
It is very important to know what you are getting yourself into. Just do not buy anything, because it has a great look. Take expert advices, look for some reviews, this would actually help you to save time and money in the long run. Better to do a quick Google search before you end up buying anything online. Competition is severe there so just always browse and explore the competition before you jump into anything.
Rough Sketch
It is very essential to have a rough sketch of how your website would look like, so if your designer does not do this for you, then you should do it by your own to get a rough idea about the structure of your website.
Read the news
Reading or watching the news could be of great help as it is the great medium of knowing all the ideas. So whenever a new product is launched, it is always in the news, so normally we get all the information regarding the product on the web.
Domain surf
Domain names would give you the idea of how to sum up your site just in one word. So search for domain names and if you find an unregistered names than you can just pick up any.
Focus on creating new ideas
If you will just focus on how to make money, you would not get good ideas in your mind, so forget about money and just focus on how to create new services and think about the questions like: how should I improve or create better or new services. Think about the new features which do not exist.

Hijack (2008) Movie Details – News and Gossips
Author: admin10 20th, 2008
Presented by Eros Entertainment, Ad film maker Kunal Shivdasani’s debut feature film Hijack starring Shiney Ahuja and Esha Deol is ready for release on 5th September. Produced by Kunal Shivdasani and Dinesh Vijan of Aleya Motion Magic – Hijack is a fast paced action thriller with some exceptional mid-air action and stunts by Allan Amin.
Hijack is based on the Kandahar incident of 1999. “A film like Hijack should be seen by people to understand how to react when they are caught in the midst of a real life hijack. It can happen to anyone. Moreover, Hijack does not just talk about terrorism. It’s a film about love and relationships too,” says the actor. He also told about his special tranining for the upcoming film. According to him “I had to work a lot on my arms. I had to hang under a chopper for about seven days. You need really strong arms and shoulders to be able to do that. So I specifically trained a lot for my shoulders, arms and upper and lower back. It takes a toll on your lower back as well.”
Ahuja’s description of Hijack indicates that terrorism may not work for long as an enduring theme in Hindi films. But till a new text grips the cinema industry, the terrorist rules.
The new girl in the Hijack promos dancing in Shiney Ahuja’s arms is Kaveri Jha. A beauty queen aspirant a couple of years ago, Kaveri is a popular and busy actress down south. In Hijack, her Bollywood debut, Kaveri plays wife to Shiney, who is a ground maintenance officer at Chandigarh airport. Esha Deol plays an airhostess who helps Shiney save his daughter who is on a hijacked plane.

Computer Technology Improves Home Entertainment
Author: admin10 2nd, 2008
Every time the computer industry tries to make inroads into the home entertainment center by offering products that are designed to use the home TV screen as a computer screen, consumers offer a lot of resistance. Yet, the computer industry persists as evidenced by Intel’s Viiv technology and the fact that the media center version of Microsoft’s Windows XP operating system and several versions of the Vista operating system are designed to make computers a part of the home entertainment center.
While consumers have been busy resisting the incursion of the home computer into the home entertainment center, computer equipment has been sneaking in anyway. This covert incursion can be seen in the form of newer forms of TV technology. DVD players, digital TV converters, satellite receivers, DVR’s, and video gaming systems are all computers in some form or another.
One of the side effects of having all of this new technology so thoroughly computerizes is that there is an unprecedented level of compatibility between computers and the Internet, and the home entertainment center. For example, there are a variety of devices that take advantage of Internet connections to provide their users with more options. The TiVo is a good example of this. TiVos download their program guide information from the Internet and are even capable of being programmed to record specific TV shows from another location over the Internet. Some of the newer TiVos are even capable of downloading movies from the Internet to be shown on TV sets.
Other devices that can do this include some versions of Sony HDTV sets, the Vudu, the Slingbox, Microsoft’s Xbox 360, and several others. The Apple TV can fetch video from the home computer(which can get the video from the Internet or from a digital video camera), and the ability to download movies directly from the Internet is expected to be coming soon to the Play Station 3 from Sony.
Another interesting result of the overlap between computers and TV is the introduction of portable video devices. A portable video device is a hand held, battery powered portable device that can store video on a built in data storage system and then display it on a TV screen or its built in screen. These devices come in a variety of sizes and capacities. For example, there are versions with only two gigabytes of storage space and such small screens that you have to wonder why anyone gave them the capacity to play video. At the other end of the extreme are devices that have amply sized screens, the ability to store over a hundred hours of video, access the web over a WiFi connection, and even record video that’s being played off of other devices and store it on their own hard disks. The data storage systems use either flash memory or more conventional hard disks, and the screens can either be conventional LCD technology or energy saving OLED screens. Some of these devices can even download video from some Digital Video Recorders if all of the compatibility issues are taken care of.
All of these devices show the benefits that computer technology can have when applied to home entertainment.
